A catch-all email mailbox receives messages sent to inactive addresses under the same domain name. For instance, an email sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. Thus, you can receive emails from buddies or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typo or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain moment you may begin receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be re-sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Web Hosting

If you’ve got a cloud web hosting plan with us and you’d like to activate the catch-all option for a specific e-mailbox that you have in your web hosting account, it’ll take literally just a click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to accomplish this. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain hosted in the account. You can pick one email address per domain name by clicking on the corresponding button. This will activate the feature instantaneously, so all emails sent to misspelled addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button again will disable the catch-all feature. In case you have enabled email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary notice and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature till you disable the forwarding or you can simply choose some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

The in-house created Hepsia Control Panel that is included with each semi-dedicated server package that we offer will permit you to set up a catch-all mailbox without any difficulty even in case you don’t have much web/email hosting experience.
